Accent wall with stencil and hand painting

The homeowner wanted an accent wall in her formal living room, inspired by the HGTV’s Chicago Oasis home, she asked our artist to create a distinctive stencil for her home.  We starting by looking at our inspiration room and simplified the stencil.

The new design gave it a modern yet elegant look.  We took the same color as the wall and used a semi-gloss finish for the first layer.  After two coats of paint, each stencil received a hand painted shadow and gold highlight.   (See close up image)  This project, which started as a stencil, took on a life of its own and became chic hand painted mural.
